Arc Flash/Blast Protection
A 1/2 day Electrical Safety Workshop on Section 1 of the NFPA 70ETM Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace to help comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
Electrical Trades and Professional Representatives will:
- Raise awareness of the potential safety hazards when working on or near electrical equipment
- Review OHSA and OESC regulation and codes with respect to worker safety near energized electrical equipment
- Focus on the specific electrical hazard of an arc flash/blast
- Learn how the NFPA 70ETM an established standard, help comply with OHSA and OESC regulations and codes with respect to work practices/procedures to ensure electrical safety in the workplace
- Recognize what degree of PPE and other procedures may be required to protect the worker from severe injury when working or testing electrical equipment.
