Classroom Option for Pre-Master Electrician Course
Classroom – The course material is delivered by an ESA Trainer in a face-to-face interactive group learning environment.
This learning method may be best suited to individuals who:
- prefer to attend a course on scheduled dates and times.
- prefer to learn through face-to-face interaction with an instructor and fellow participants.
Please note, classroom courses delivered over 6 consecutive days (e.g. weeklong sessions) are learning intensive. Individuals who choose to participate in these sessions should be prepared for full day classroom instruction followed by a self directed review of the course material at home for the duration of the course.
How to Register - Steps to register for the Pre-Master Electrician Course and Master Electrician Examination:
Step 1: Passing the Master Electrician Examination is only one of the necessary requirements to obtain a Master Electrician Licence. If you are taking this course to prepare you for the Master Electrician Examination, click here to review the Master Electrician Licence requirements. If not, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Select a Pre-Master Electrician Training Course to attend.
Step3: Register for the course by completing the Course Registration Form below or contact 1-877-ESA-SAFE (372-7233).
This course is not a prerequisite for the Master Electrician Examination. However, statistics show that those that take the course, and study, typically do well on the examination.
Step 4: Registering for the Master Electrician Examination. The Master Electrician Examination is only offered through the Electrical Safety Authority. Click here to find an exam in your area.
Step 5: Apply to write the Master Electrician Examination. Fax or mail (with payment and proof of required experience) a completed “Master Electrician Examination Application Form” to (905) 712-3020. Click here to find the “Master Electrician Examination Application Form”.
What to Bring: A Pre-Master Electrician Course Student Manual and Master Electrician Examination Reference Manual will be provided to you during the course. In addition to these textbooks, you are responsible for the following:
- Ontario Electrical Safety Code (26th Edition 2015)

Cost: $878+ HST (Includes ESA Pre-Master Student Manual and Master Electrician Examination Reference Manual).
Maximum Enrolment per Session: Specific to each course offering. Generally does not exceed 25.
