Public Electrical Safety Measure on LDC Scorecard

The Electrical Safety Authority (“ESA”) requested input into a recommendation to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for a Public Electrical Safety Measure on Local Distribution Companies’ (LDC) annual OEB Scorecard. 

The public consultation ran from Monday, January 26 to Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

In addition, the ESA convened and met with an LDC Public Electrical Safety Measure Working Group to ensure meaningful stakeholder input to ESA as the proposed public electrical safety measure was developed.  The minutes of these meetings and other resources from the Working Group are available below.  Stakeholders are encouraged to read these documents.

Written comments on the proposed recommendation should be submitted on the downloadable form provided to stakeholder.esa@electricalsafety.on.ca by 5:00 p.m. EST March 4, 2015. 

Please include:

1)      Your response to the proposed Public Electrical Safety Measure: support; neutral; or opposed.

2)      Your contact information: name, organization, type of work or stakeholder (e.g. LDC, facility owner, consumer, etc.)

To add to the transparency of the consultation process, after the consultation period closes ESA will post all submission results on its website; however it will not post any personal information (name, address).  If you would prefer not to have your comments posted, please indicate that with your submission.
